TWO ONE-ACT PLAY CLINICS

Critical workshops designed to aid high school directors and students in preparation for University Interscholastic League One-Act Play Competition

Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28, 2009
Beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Registration fee for performing schools - $50
Registration fee for observers - $25



CLINIC FEATURES
:
  1. Performance (under rehearsal conditions) of one-act play by each school.

  2. Detailed critique immediately following each performance by SFA faculty.

  3. Schools may attend as observers only, in which case they may see the performances and/or attend the workshops.

  4. At least four workshop-demonstrations by SFA faculty and advanced students. Recent topics have included:

    Online Resources for Theatre Sound
    Special Effects Make-Up
    Improvisation & Characterization
    Period Costumes & Stage Movement
    Voice for the Actor
    Lighting Techniques
    Shakespeare
    Scene Painting Techniques
    Ballroom Dance

    Audition Strategies


  5. An opportunity to see an SFA performance of The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance.

Note: Enrollment will be limited to ten (10) performing schools per day, with no limitation on the number of students attending. There is no limitation of the schools per day permitted as observers.

Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis when accompanied with check or money order. Once registration is filled for each day, a waiting list will be kept. Refunds will be made to schools if cancellations occur early enough to allow a school on the waiting list to attend and perform and if a tax I.D. or SS# is provided.

Please note: SFA faculty will be on Christmas Holiday December 13-January 20. Confirmation of registration and answers to any inquiries made during that time will be made immediately upon our return.
