WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO STUDY ABROAD?
The Office of International Programs (OIP) serves students and faculty in providing information about study abroad, in encouraging and facilitating organization of faculty-led study abroad programs and in coordinating group exchanges for students and faculty.
The OIP offers a variety of study abroad options. Students may apply credit earned in study abroad programs toward a degree at SFA. Some programs involve direct enrollment in an institution abroad, while SFA faculty lead others.
Deciding to study abroad can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your academic career. It is also one of the best ways to gain an in-depth understanding of another country and culture, helping you to grow globally.
You can spend two weeks, a summer, a semester or an entire year studying in another country through the programs offered by the SFA OIP Office. Because you're allowed to use the financial aid and scholarships you normally would receive at SFA for your study abroad, these programs are often no more expensive than regular SFA courses. You do not have to be a foreign language major or speak a foreign language to study abroad. SFA offers programs - many conducted in English - that provide academic credit toward degrees regardless of your major.
