This year over 100 Counselors will dedicate their time and energy to help welcome New Students to SFA. The primary role of counselor is to lead a small discussion group of New Students in hopes of welcoming them into the Lumberjack family by teaching traditions, offering insight into their first year, and providing continuing support for their duration at SFA. Counselors are to provide an “unconditionally accepting environment” while upholding the reputation and integrity of Jack Camp. These volunteer positions are very rewarding and are an opportunity to touch many lives.

Who are the counselors?

Students just like you! We have had Orientation Leaders, the SGA president, Student Activities Association president, members of fraternities and sororities, School of Honors students, cheerleaders and students from all walks of life there to make sure you have the time of your life and get all your questions answered.
