Student Foundation Association

The purpose of the Student Foundation Association is to serve the university, faculty and staff, the student body and alumni. Supported through the SFASU Foundation, Inc. and Alumni Association, the Student Foundation Association furthers the aims of the university by recruiting qualified students, raising scholarship funds, and building good will and an attitude of support among existing and future alumni and friends. The Student Foundation Association serves the student body by raising and distributing scholarship funds and providing opportunities for campus involvement in relation to spirit, tradition and pride.

The Student Foundation Association supports and promotes SFA by building community-minded student leaders. Foundation members also help educate and prepare students for future roles in support of the university and provide opportunities for the development of student leadership.

Leadership Scholarships

A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of a brick will build endowment for leadership scholarships, the philanthropic purpose of the Student Foundation Association. Leadership scholarships are awarded to exceptional students who exhibit strong leadership qualities. The Student Foundation Association communicates with counselors, sponsors, teachers and administrators of high schools and colleges to recruit qualified candidates. Applications are distributed to students who have developed and exhibited leadership skills. The Student Foundation Association will then review the applications and award leadership scholarships.

SFA Walk of Recognition

We invite you to participate in the project that will forever link the past to the future: the SFA Walk of Recognition. For $100, $250 or $500, you may permanently make your mark on a brick inscribed with your personal message. The Walk of Recognition is located in the Sesquicentennial Plaza around the Stephen F. Austin fountain.

Your name carved in a brick will symbolize the spirit you felt when you were at SFA - the same spirit still present everywhere on campus! These bricks, available in two sizes, will be hand-etched and laid geometrically in the plaza. Alumni and friends of the university from far and wide will enjoy a memorable stroll on the SFA Walk of Recognition when they visit Stephen F. Austin State University. Participating in the Walk of Recognition demonstrates your commitment to help SFA students achieve their educational goals.

Graduates, parents, grandparents, friends of the university, SFA faculty/staff or current SFA students! We're encouraging everyone associated with SFA to have a brick in the SFA Walk of Recognition

Why should I purchase a brick?

Your brick on the walkway will be a permanent tribute on the SFA campus. In years to come, your family members and many students, alumni, faculty and visitors will see your brick and recognize your loyalty to SFA. Your gift also will help support the Student Foundation Association as we continue to give back to SFA!

Can I give in remembrance or in honor of someone?

Bricks in the SFA Walk of Recognition are ideal graduation and birthday gifts and provide a meaningful way to honor or memoralize a friend or relative. Printed certificates will be sent upon request for such gifts.
