Eligibility
To receive federal, state, or institutional funds you must:
- be enrolled in an eligible degree-seeking or certificate programs at least half-time (six credit hours)
- be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- have a valid Social Security Number
- be registered with Selective Service (if required)
- be in good academic standing and maintain satisfactory academic progress toward completion of a degree or certificate
- not owe a refund on a Federal grant or be in Default on a Federal educational loan
- demonstrate a financial need, except for some loan programs
Parent income will be required unless the student meets one of the following criteria:
- will be 24 years old before January 1
- is a graduate or professional student
- is married as of the application date
- has legal dependents who receive more than half of their support from the student
- was a ward of the court before turning 18 or both parents are deceased
- is a veteran
- has documented exceptional circumstances
