Our staff is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors

Jill Milem M.Ed., LPC
Assistant Director of Counseling Services / Clinical Director
Ms. Milem received a BA in Visual Arts from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and a Master of Education in Counseling from SFA.  She worked in private psychiatric settings and in a domestic violence shelter prior to joining Counseling Services in 1991.

 

Charlotte Jackson MA, LPC
Counselor
Ms. Jackson received her Bachelors in Psychology from Abilene Christian University and Master of Arts degree in Psychology from SFA.  She has over 20 years of experience in the field of counseling.

 

Nicole C. Preston MS, LPC
Counselor
Ms. Preston received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.  She earned her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis in Substance Abuse Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Carbondale, IL.   Ms. Preston has worked in the public non-profit sector in substance abuse education and treatment as well as with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.

 

Binta Lorde MA, LPC, NCC
Counselor
Ms. Lorde earned a B.A. in Business Computer Information Systems and Business Management from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.  She earned her masters degree in Community Counseling from SFA.  Ms. Lorde provided mental health counseling for juveniles and their families who were involved in the juvenile justice system prior to joining the staff at SFA.

 

Ron Smith MA, LPC
Counselor
Mr. Smith received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, and spent more than two decades in the petrochemical industry.   Mr. Smith earned an M.A. degree in Community Counseling from SFA in 2005.   He provided counseling services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse for a private non-profit agency elsewhere in East Texas before joining our staff.
